With autumn round the corner and fashion weeks are in full swing people are dying to know about the latest trend on the runway. The recent New York fashion week gave us a glimpse of impending fall fashion trends of 2010. Whatever the models wore on the ramp were wearable, chic, glamorous and bold in disparate print and colors. The different moods that were portrayed by the designers are:
Urban
From Calvin Klein to Narciso Rodriguez to Derek Lam, urban chic has been a favorite theme to adorn the strong personality and slender beauty of metropolitan women who love to sport minimal fashion with maximum appeal. Sometimes it was luxurious with delicately tailored coat or stunning blue fur jacket and sometimes it was strikingly straightforward in zigzag fur dress or more strictly designed coats.
Conservative
Perhaps this is the after effect of recession that designers like Marc Jacobs and Behnaz Sarafpour have chosen to keep it simple yet classy with ageless cashmere coats and muted color palette. On the other hand, Tommy Hilfiger was particular with finely cut suits to define the lean silhouettes of the models. Evening gowns and dresses were devoid of dazzling luxury while oozing sensuous elegance that came from premium quality fabrics and superior designs born from the best minds of the fashion industry.
Eccentric
This is one particular mood that represented the young and the bold lot. An assortment of playful hues, quirky patterns and contrasting motifs told us how the young generation loves experimenting with clothes and colors and mixing the patterns to create something unique out of the ordinary. Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu and Oscar de la Renta have portrayed this persona of modern women in vibrant colors and eclectic designs.
Boho Chic
The 2010 New York fall fashion week witnessed the comeback of Bohemian with the creations of Ralph Lauren. The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was this time more upscale, chic and polished. The combination of ‘flowery frocks and tony coats’ from Lauren and fluttering of frills and layers on Marchesa dresses revealed the creative genius of the designers.
Outdoorsy
Today’s women love sports and aren’t afraid of going outdoor. The combination of soft fur jacket and strappy boot from Michael Kors, or oversized trench coats and leather belts from Marc Jacobs wonderfully projected the adventurous self of modern women, not in a rugged harsh way, rather in a sporty, loving manner. The toughness of hooded jacket and muted brown was toned down with stylish fur-lined vest and sheer blouse.
